pic of the weekend

Here’s a view from around the renovated “downtown” area. We walked around a corner, saw this, and I thought, “I need a picture of that.”  The minarets standing intertwined in view with the orthodox steeple caught my eye.  Enjoy!

  1. Hi! I just found you on Coffeegirl Confessions! I heard you are looking for a pumpkin pie recipe! I have a favorite that works well even when you only have squash!
And before I paste it in…I’ll be back to check on your great blog! I ADORE your header…killer shoes, girl! :)

    Perfect Pumpkin Pie
1 can pumpkin (or 2-3 cups cooked and pureed pumpkin or squash with water drained off)
    1 can sweetened condensed milk
    2 eggs
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp ground ginger
    1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
    1/2 tsp salt
1 9 in unbaked pie crust.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees farenheit. Whisk pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, spices and salt in medium bowl until smooth. Pour into crust. Bake 15 minutes.
Reduce oven temp to 350 degrees and continue baking 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted 1 inch from crust comes out clean. Cool. Garnish as desired. Store leftovers covered in the fridge.
I also always put tin foil around the edges of the crust and then take it off for the last 15 minutes. Otherwise it tends to get pretty brown.
    Blessings!!! And Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Hi Nicolette! Glad to see you link on Coffeegirl is fixed! I love your pictures – take lots before you stop seeing things. Thanks for visiting my blog, too.

got to run – way behind getting anything done with all the phone calls today!
