Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! As we look over the past couple of months… past year… we have so much to be thankful for! Your support and encouragement is up there at the top of the list for sure! :)
We celebrated T-day yesterday (a day early). We were invited over to a family’s place from our church. For a super-American holiday, it was quite the multi-cultural experience. In addition to Americans, we ate Thanksgiving dinner with Australians, Lebanese and Indians! It was a great time of fellowship and a wonderful feast of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, pies and more!
While we are very lucky here in Lebanon to have access to most food products, there are definitely some very American things that are pretty impossible to find. Cranberries are one, pumpkin pie filling is another. So, I tried my hand at baking from scratch!
It was actually a lot easier than I anticipated… the hardest part was finding a pumpkin! I searched for days with no luck, so I finally bought a huge butternut squash because I’ve heard they are interchangeable. As we were walking home from the grocery store, I peeked into a fruit stand and saw pumpkins! So I bought a couple and we had real pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving!
