Sounds of Beirut part 5 – Jamile’s song

Wow, it has been a long time since we’ve updated the blog… sorry about.  We are still getting settled into the new place (more on that later), so things are starting to get a little less crazy….  well, except that the girls got back today and we’re having a baby in about 6 weeks or so… other than that, a little less crazy, I guess! :)

A few weeks ago, we headed up into the mountains for a three day church conference.  It was so nice to get out of the heat of Beirut and into the trees and cool mountain air.  It was a great time of fellowship… sitting and talking, eating together, playing foosball and soccer (okay, I didn’t actually play soccer, but Caleb did! :)).  We had worship and Q&A sessions each morning and then another worship service and time of teaching in the evenings.  We are so thankful that God allowed us to be part of this church.  It has been a great source of encouragement and friendship and we are excited to continue ministering alongside them!

Below is a quick video I took one afternoon.  Everyone was sitting around drinking coffee and chatting, when it turned into an impromptu time of singing…  enjoy!

  1. Is it common there, too, that singing is mostly done by one person, with perhaps people joining in on a repeated section?

It is like that where we work. What are the songs usually about?
